Middle School Music

Our Creative Music Program offers students the opportunity to unleash their creativity in small-group sessions divided by age and musical ability. Groups meet three times per week. Over the course of the year, students will:

  • Develop advanced instrument technique & musical skills

  • Increase social awareness and connections with peers

  • Enhance active-listening skills listening to and learn about music from diverse styles and genres 

  • Strengthen musical creativity through instrumental improvisation

  • Learn how create melodies compose their own original music

  • Explore foundational skills in music production and recording

  • Participate in virtual orchestra and chamber music projects.

In addition, each child will receive a weekly 30-minute private lesson on their instrument from one of our professionally-trained Teaching Artists.

  • 22 Weeks of programming, January 5 - June 17, 2021

  • 2 weekly small-group classes
    (virtual thru June 2021)

  • Schedule: Wednesdays 12:00-2:00 & Fridays 5:30-6:30

  • 1 weekly private lesson for 30 minutes

  • Includes Paper Instrument supplies

  • Includes real string instrument rental

  • $40 per week ($880 for spring term)

  • $40 registration fee

  • Reduced fee for summer instrument rental
