<![CDATA[Summer Workforce 2024 OPEN NOW!]]>https://www.bostonmusicproject.org/post/summer-workforce-202466019427c0d1af2f9c679a7eMon, 25 Mar 2024 15:13:08 GMTBMP NewsThe 6-week music apprenticeship program (July 8 - August 16, Mon-Thur 9 am - 2pm) is designed for high school students who are interested in exploring careers in music production/performance, music business, and live sound engineering. Over the course of the program, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the music industry, job opportunities in music production, and the skills needed to succeed in this field.

Youth hired for this program have three objectives: record an original album, produce live concerts, and meet music industry professionals . Students will learn to use music production software and hardware tools, create and mix original music, operate live sound equipment, and develop marketing plans for their music.

The program culminates in the release of an original album of student-produced music and a showcase event to share their work with peers and families. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to work on individual and group projects, receive feedback and critiques, and engage with guest speakers from different areas of the music industry.

Last summer 14 students worked alongside our team of teaching artists and met with local professionals in all areas of the music industry. Our partners and collaborators included The Record Co., Big Night Live, iHeart Radio, Fenway Park, The City of Boston, and the Fenway Community Center. You can check out last summer's student's full bios here and watch the recap below!

We are excited to share that Boston Music Project is now providing 2,000 Boston Public School students with weekly music education across 22 schools through our team of over 50 teaching artists! Moreover, we are proud to provide $225,000 in youth scholarships to study instrumental music this year alone. This would not be possible without the unwavering support from so many generous donors.

To continue our mission and vision to ensure all children throughout Greater Boston have access to transformative music-making experiences, we are calling on our community of friends and supporters to help us raise $100,000 through our BMP 400 Campaign.

The BMP 400

To help our youth continue to play with purpose, we are calling on 400 friends who are committed to BMP and the importance of music education. This fall, by contributing a minimum of $250 to our annual fund, you will become part of “The BMP 400,” a committed group of supporters that will receive:

 • A Heartfelt Thank You from our talented young musicians whose lives are being transformed by your generosity.

 • Early Access To Album Releases by our student music producers

 • Exclusive BMP T-shirt to show your support for music education in our community.

Your support allows us to continue offering high-quality music education to thousands of youth, creating opportunities for collaboration with professional musicians like Ed Sheeran, and organizing over 94 annual community concerts and events like Make Music Boston, that make music accessible to all.

You can shape the future of our students, empowering them with skills, confidence, and a love for music that will last a lifetime. To become part of the BMP 400 please visit THIS LINK to donate today!

Together, we can ensure that music education remains a vibrant part of our community. Thank you for your generous support!
