Jacqueline Bensen (she/her) | Director at Hurley K-8
Jacqueline Bensen, originally from New Jersey, is a violinist and teacher based in Boston. Her education in music prior to university brought her through the New Jersey Youth Symphony and Mannes Prep, where her passion for the arts was fostered. She received a B.M. in violin performance and a B.A. in psychology from Boston University in 2022.
As an active performer, Jackie participates in various ensembles in Boston, including the DuBois Orchestra and Boston Civic Symphony. She has also performed with Mass Opera, The Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Summer Opera, and The Gilded Age Orchestra. Jackie’s orchestral studies have afforded her the opportunities to perform in world renowned venues including Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Musikverein, Merkin Hall, the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Schönbrunn Palace. Some of her favorite local venues in which to share music with the community include Jordan Hall and the Church of the Advent. She enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and trying new coffee shops.
