December 2025
The Margaret Stewart Lindsay Music Non-Profit of the Year
Boston Music Project was named the Margaret Stewart Lindsay Foundation Music Non-Profit of the Year at the 2025 Boston Music Awards! The award recognizes BMP’s outstanding impact on music education, creative youth development, and the broader Boston music ecosystem.

BMP had the opportunity to bring even more students to TD Garden AGAIN! Including:

October 2025
Paper Orchestra Builds
This year we were able to We are proud to be able to bring our paper orchestra program to eight before and after school programs across the city!
Thanks to our partnership with Bose, whose employees volunteered to create the paper orchestra kits to support our youngest musicians across Boston!

Continuing the Expansion
BMP is excited to add two new before and after-school sites, the John F Kennedy, Lyndon Schools, and Clover Clubhouse for Private Lessons.
August 2025
Summer Workforce Training Cohort/Youth Fest!
Boston Music Project hired 19 Boston youth musicians to record an album and produce live concerts through a partnership with SuccessLink and the City of Boston's youth summer employment program.

July 2025
Summer Strings Intensive
From July 21st to August 1st, Boston Music Project's Summer String Intensive (SSI) was held at Josiah Quincy Upper School.
Students worked in chamber groups, created music-oriented arts and crafts, and made instruments using STEAM principals.

June 2025
BMP Block Party
On Sunday June 8th, 2025, the Boston Music Project hosted our annual BMP Block Party at the Boxwood Gardens on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The air was filled with music from family and friends of 267 students, from 7 schools, making up 23 orchestras/ensembles!
Thank you to all of our youth musicians and Teaching Artists for sharing your music with all of Boston, and a big thank you to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for providing the space to make this celebration possible!
Salsa At the Shell
Boston Music Project was proud to produce a GroundBeat Concert Series: Salsa at the Shell. The concert featured performances by Boston Music Project youth musicians alongside collaborators from FutureBOS and BCYF Creates, and a headlining set by Angel Subero and Latin Logic—but not before a spirited interactive salsa dance lesson to get everyone up and moving.

Students from the Winship and Josiah Quincy Schools performed at the Mayor's Coffee Hours!
April 2025
Playing with Purpose Gala
It was amazing to have our community come together - our friends, families, and supporters - for a BMP night out with the amazing music of Violin Viiv, Project MishraM, our Music Workforce Apprenticeship original performance (Julianna, Fabio, Mary!) our Youth Brass Band, and our All Star Rock Symphony, and ending the night with DJ Kareem Clarke with Fred Woodard! Symphony Visit
February 2025
Bose Performance/Visit
BMP orchestra and Workforce students took a trip to Bose Headquarter in Framingham, got a tour through the history of Bose, and then brought the energy with an amazing lunchtime concert. Check out the recap video below and photos here!
