Summer Spotlight: BMP'S 2025 Music Workforce Apprenticeship in Full Swing

This summer, Boston Music Project is proud to once again partner with SuccessLink and the City of Boston to launch our Music Workforce Apprenticeship—an immersive, six-week experience that empowers 21 Boston youth musicians will bring their music to life—writing, recording, performing across the city, and building real-world connections in the music industry.

Now two weeks in, our youth bands and string quartet are deep in creative work: writing original compositions, recording at The Record Co., and receiving mentorship from local music professionals. The string quartet kicked off intensive coaching sessions with Analog By Choice, while our modern bands have begun shaping the sound of a new album that captures the pulse of Boston’s next generation.

But this program goes far beyond music. With support from FutureBOS, ICA Teens, and the Office of Youth Employment & Opportunity, students are also learning event planning, creative writing, and professional development—gearing up for an unforgettable lineup of summer performances:

Titus Sparrow Concert Series – July 30
Boston Mayoral Forum – July 30
JP Main Street's Latin Night – July 31
South End National Night Out with CSTA – August 5
ICA Teen Night – August 6

And the grand finale: Youth Fest – August 13 at City Hall Plaza

Throughout the program, youth collaborate with an inspiring network of partners, including the City of Boston's Office of Arts and Culture, FutureBOS, The Record Co., ICA, and more—all working together to ensure that young artists feel seen, supported, and ready to lead.
