Getting Into the 'String' Of Things

Updated: Nov 12, 2020

We kicked off our 2019-20 season with four events in September throughout the Boston community, featuring both our student musicians and our talented teaching artists!

Seaport X BSO Event

Our friends at Seaport Boston and the Boston Pops invited our youth musicians to run an instrument petting zoo for friends and families in the Seaport for the annual Boston Pop Brass concert.

Just-A-Start Graduation at Capital One

Our teaching artists performed for a graduation for Just-A-Start, a fellow non-profit dedicated to building the housing security and economic stability of low- to moderate-income people. Thanks to our friends at Capital One, Assembly Row, for inviting us to celebrate these families and share a gift of music.

Music in the Park

BMP families and friends in the Fenway area enjoyed an evening of string music under the fall sky. ‘Music in the Park’ was the first in our series of community performances featuring our talented teaching artists. Huge thank you to the Friends of Symphony Park, our BMP Board, the Morville House, and our performers for creating an intimate evening of music and community-building. Our upcoming Salon Series at The Revolution Hotel will be on October 29th and November 20th. All of these events are free and open to the public.

Wang YMCA Ribbon-Cutting

Our friends at the Wang YMCA of Chinatown had much to celebrate this September with the opening of their beautiful new playground. Our teaching artists and youth musicians were excited to take part in the festivities with music performances and an instrument petting zoo for all!
