Summer is a great time for family vacations, enjoying the warm sun, and practicing, of course! This year, nearly half of our students took part in summer lessons, music camps, and individual home practice.
Home-Practice Tips on our Website
With so many families taking instruments home for the summer, our BMP team launched a new resource for students and parents to support their home practice and music listening.
Our ‘Home-Practice Tips’ page includes how-to videos on tuning a string instrument and rosining a bow, music apps to make for more engaging practice sessions, and note-worthy recordings from the world’s most recognized and recorded musicians and orchestras. We even included a form to sign up for private music lessons from one of our talented Teaching Artists. Check it out today!
Summer Music Camps
Many of our students took part in summer music programs throughout the Boston community. The BPS Summer Program provided a week-long string intensive that was free for all BPS students.
Students continued the summer taking part in the Community Music Center’s Summer Music program and Longy’s Summer Academy to name a few. Summer lessons were also a hit and with nearly half of our students electing to take their instruments home for the summer, musical moments were had by many!
