Private Lessons

Private lessons take place at the location selected during registration. Common lesson locations include:

• Josiah Quincy Elementary School

• Hill House

• Clover Clubhouse

Important notes:

• Lesson locations are confirmed before the start of the session.

• Location details (address, room info, arrival instructions) are shared prior to the first lesson.

• Families should plan to arrive 5 minutes early to ensure a smooth start.

If you are unsure where your lesson is held, please contact our team before the lesson time.

Families may request a specific teacher at the time of registration.

• We do our best to honor requests when scheduling allows.

• Teacher availability is based on location, schedule, and enrollment demand.

• While we cannot guarantee a specific instructor, all BMP teaching artists are highly trained, vetted, and aligned with our teaching philosophy.

If your requested teacher is unavailable, we will recommend the best possible match for your student.

Yes — instrument switches are sometimes possible.

Things to know:

• Switching instruments is dependent on teacher availability and schedule alignment.

• A change may require a new teacher or lesson time.

• Instrument switches are easiest to accommodate between session cycles rather than mid-session.

If your child is interested in switching instruments, please contact us as early as possible so we can explore options together.

At this time, private in-home lessons are not offered.

This policy ensures:

All lessons take place at approved, insured locations that support focused learning and safe instruction.

We want every student to feel comfortable, supported, and inspired.

• Teacher changes are considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Requests must be submitted to our administrative team (not directly to teaching artists).

• Changes depend on availability and may require a new lesson time or location.

We encourage families to communicate openly so we can support a positive experience for everyone involved.

• Please notify us as early as possible if a student will be absent.

• Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and depend on teacher availability.

• Last-minute cancellations may not be eligible for rescheduling.

Clear communication helps us best support both families and teaching artists.

Students should arrive prepared with:

• Their instrument (unless otherwise arranged)

• Any required accessories (reeds, rosin, sticks, etc.)

• A folder or notebook for notes

• A positive attitude and readiness to learn!

Teachers may recommend additional materials as lessons progress.
